Rome, July 16 - Italian police on Tuesday arrested a
man suspected of gunning down an 'Ndrangheta boss in Rome in
January.
Police said the suspect, Gianni Cretarola, was linked to a
rival Calabrian mafia clan.
Vincenzo Femia, 67, had been an 'Ndrangheta leader in Rome
for the last 20 years and belonged to the San Luca clan that
sprang to international attention with the 2007 murder of six
mafiosi in the German city of Duisburg.
Femia was hit by "at least nine bullets" while sitting in
his car in the southern Roman Trigoria district on the night of
January 24.
'Ndrangheta is Italy's richest and most powerful mafia.
