Google Street View coming to Venice


Venice, July 17 - Google Street View, the feature
on the search engine's mapping service that allows users to walk
virtually around a destination, is coming to Venice.
In a few months, the California-based Internet giant plans
to wrap up 'trekking' the city of no cars, a process that
involves an engineer walking up and down each and every medieval
alley with a multi-angle camera harnessed above his head.
Once finished, Google Maps and Google Earth users will have
a panoramic, three-dimensional view of virtually any point of
Venice and be able to zoom in and out on monuments such as St
Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge.
Trekking reportedly began in April.
It is not known if Venice Street View will also include
