Naples mayor probed for America's Cup events contracts

Naples, July 22 - Investigations into suspected
contract rigging for the America's Cup events that took place in
Naples in 2012 and 2013 have been widened to include Naples
Mayor Claudio de Magistris, Campania Regional Governor Stefano
Caldoro and ex-provincial president Luigi Cesaro.
Probes were opened in June that included the brother of the
city's mayor along with the mayor's chief of staff Attilio
Auricchio, the Chamber of Commerce President Maurizio Maddaloni,
president of Naples Industrial Union Paolo Graziano and the
Naples America's Cup manager Mario Hubler following complaints
filed by center-right mayoral candidate Gianni Lettieri and
others, Naples investigators said.
Naples hosted stages of the America's Cup World Series in
April 2012 and 2013.
