Private funding for Pompeii subject to 'strict controls'


Naples, July 23 - Private funding for much needed
works to restore and preserve the Pompeii archeological site
will be monitored by "clear guidelines...a framework of rules
and strict controls," Italian Culture Minister Massimo Bray said
on Tuesday.
Bray visited the world-famous site to survey work
underway and check that contracts for restoration are being
