Berlusconi's passport slated to be confiscated

Rome, August 2 - The police headquarters in Milan
on Friday began procedures for the confiscation of ex-premier
Silvio Berlusconi's passport following the tax-fraud sentence
upheld by Italy's supreme court on Thursday.
The measure will be carried out by Rome police, where
Berlusconi has his residence registered.
The ruling also means Berlusconi cannot stand in future
elections and sooner or later he looks set to be stripped of his
status as Senator.
