Director says less noise pollution at Colosseum

Rome, September 3 - In only the few weeks since
Rome began limiting traffic around the iconic Colosseum, the
amount of noise pollution has dropped dramatically, the director
of the monument said Tuesday.
In an interview with ANSA, Rossella Rea said that a
"remarkable" reduction in private traffic around the Colosseum
has also been witnessed.
Just one month earlier, Rome's Mayor Ignazio Marino began a
controversial project to limit private traffic on Via dei Fori
Imperiali in the area of the Colosseum to better preserve the
monument, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre.
