Strasbourg, September 3 - The European Court of
Human Rights on Tuesday ruled that a group of 162 Italians
infected by contaminated blood transfusions must be given
compensation adjusted to account for inflation by the Italian
government.
The judge ruled that the Italian Court of Cassation's 2005
ruling for inflation-adjust payments and a subsequent 2010
Constitutional Court ruling be upheld.
The victims of the tainted blood allege that measures to
adjust their payments have not been applied in their case.
