Rugby: Italy's Zebre sign former All Black Muliaina

Rome, April 2 - Italian side Zebre have announced
that they have signed former All Blacks star Mils Muliaina for
next season.
The 34-year-old fullback, who can also play centre or on
the wing, won 100 caps and scored 165 test points for New
Zealand between 2003 and 2011 and was part of their 2011 World
Cup-winning squad.
He will join Parma-based Zebre, one of two Italian
franchises in the Guinness Pro12 and the Heineken Cup along with
Benetton Treviso, on a one-year contract after parting company
with his current side, Ireland's Connacht.
Team manager Andrea De Rossi said Muliaina's experience
and skill will be vital for the Zebre, especially in view of the
Rugby World Cup in September and October, when a big chunk of
the squad will be on service with the national team.
"I don't think you need to say much to present Muliaina, a
player who is a symbol of rugby itself, who played at three
World Cups and is a reigning world champion," said former Italy
flanker De Rossi.
"I think that his immense experience throughout the
three-quarters will make an important contribution to the
development of many youngsters".
