Renzi says Italy example in fight on corruption (3)

Antalya, November 16 - Premier Matteo Renzi told
the G20 summit that Italy is now a model for the fight against
corruption, ANSA sources said on Monday.
Italy has been hit by a long series of corruption scandals
in recent years, including probes in the run-up to Milan Expo
2015 and an investigation into allegations a mafia organisation
muscled in on city of Rome contracts worth millions.
But the premier told the other leaders at the G20 that
Italy was fighting graft hard.
"Italy has become an example at the international level
for the fight on corruption," Renzi said, according to sources.
He gave the examples of how Italy's anti-corruption
authority had "saved Expo" and measures for electronic invoicing
and telematic tax declarations to combat tax evasion.
